Adana Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time (30 to 38 hours/week) NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician to work in our small animal veterinary practice with focus on excellent patient care for cats, dogs, and furry exotics as well as exceptional, personalized client service. We offer a wonderful position in a small, personalized practice working with pleasant clientele, where you can utilize your LVT skills, work 4 (or 5) days per week, no on call duty needed, plus 1 Saturday morning every 4 weeks – in short you can enjoy a life balanced for work and for pleasure. We expect that you love client care as well as pet care, that you have skills in client communication and education, with ability to transcribe own and doctors’ medical notes into patients’ SOAP. You will need to be proficient in blood draws, IVC placement, anesthesia induction and monitoring, basic laboratory work (UA, fecal float/direct, differentials, basic ear cytology, etc.), ability to expose digital X-rays and so forth. Experience in dentistry incl. digital dental X-ray exposure is a huge plus. We are small clinic and enjoy the benefits and joy of close connections with our clients and their pets. All staff assist with excellent customer service, including invoicing out clients and answering the phone.
We are looking for someone with long-term interest in this job, with good communication skills, a cheerful attitude and willing to assist in a positive workflow by being a valuable, hard-working team player. You should be able to lift 50-60 lbs by yourself. Ability to understand and use computer software as well as type at a minimum of 55-60 WPM is required. We are a technically progressive practice, we use Impromed for our veterinary software and all exam rooms are equipped with desktop computers.
