Maya joined Adana Veterinary Clinic in April 2018 as a receptionist. She loves saying hello to all the furry faces that come to the clinic. Although she’s still new to the AVC family, she will try her absolute best to help you and your pet to get the best medical care possible. She loves every aspect of vet medicine, and finds surgeries and animal behavior particularly fascinating.
Maya moved all the way to New York from Florida, where she worked as a wildlife biologist. She’s worked as a saltwater fisherman, alligator tagger, and bird surveyor. As much as she loves cats and dogs, her specialty are reptiles, and she’s helped research all types of snakes and crocodilians. If you have any questions about reptiles or reptilian care, she can definitely help.
She currently has a small hobby farm where she enjoys the company of her pheasants, chickens, a skink, and two dogs. Blu is a Husky Malamute mix with an old soul, and he loves spending time with the baby chicks roaming her barn. Her second dog, Ransom, is a German Shorthair Pointer and is a class A bird dog. She loves hiking, hunting and fishing in her spare time – you can almost always find her in the woods or on some adventure!
